Recipe: Granola Tea Bar

Granola tea bars are one of our all time favorite recipes! The sweet caramel and earthy notes of Dian Hong blend beautifully with this recipe. Cut up into bars or crumble and sprinkle over yogurt.

Ingredients

1 cup dates (pitted)

1 cup almonds (unsalted and roasted recommended)

1 ½ cups rolled oats

¼ cup agave or honey

¼ cut peanut butter or sunflower seed oil

2 tablespoons Dian Hong tea

Directions

In a blender, finely chop dates. Place in a medium size bowl. Blend almonds into small pieces and add to the dates. Mix in rolled oats and stir to combine. Set aside while you prepare the tea leaves. In a saucepan, combine agave, peanut butter (or sunflower oil) and tea. Cook for 1-2 minutes over medium heat until peanut butter is melted. Pour tea mixture over the almonds, dates and rolled oats. Stir to combine. Transfer granola mixture into a small pan (8x8 or similar) lined with parchment paper or tin foil. Pack down granola to create a solid bar. Fold up the paper or tin foil to wrap granola completely. Freeze for 4 hours. Slice into bars and enjoy! If savings for later, keep in the freezer to maintain consistency.
